Anyone have any leads on rentals in the UCF area of Orlando? Me and my girl are moving down there late July, early August and i'm trying to get some ideas on where we can go.

2 bedrooms would be preferred and a garage or somewhere I can store the bike. That can be some sort of porch. Just want something covered so my bike doesn't scream STEAL ME!!!!!!!! In the $700 range/ month as well.

Thanks guys.

You haven't moved in together yet and you want 2 bedrooms. Did you get married?

Done. And rentals.com, etc. I've got 14 places to look at this weekend. Figured driving by most of the places first before I talk to a realtor is much more effective so i'm not wasting my time or their time.

Just seeing if anyone had any connections down there.

There are alot of dumps out here... Avoid Goldenrod and Aloma and 434 corridor for starters...

Good luck!

Hey, I used to live over there!

And... can't find flaw with your argument, honestly. Avoid anything near FullSail, not only will the traffic be crazy every 4 hours, most of the stuff around it has issues with theft and drugs. As for -good- facilities, I can't really narrow it down for you, but I've heard that the closer you get the UCF the better it gets... and the more expensive. $700/month is gonna be hard, I think.

Same here a million years ago off of Econ when my ex and I went to UCF and it hasnt improved...
Stick with the Alafaya area... overall its pretty safe (at least compared to University Blvd and the surrounding streets). But seriously Bike theft over there is huge! So if you dont have ins (get some) and if you dont have a garage (park it inside)... just saying

Thanks everyone. I have some houses i'm going to drive by and check out. I've been talking with a realtor about some apartments since I can't really just go drive through some gated complex lol.

Nicole will help with any school stuff, she was lost when she got there and had to fight through a lot of stupid things, may as well learn from her experience.

She is at The Edge, but I don't think that works for you. I would look at the ads on campus too.

That would be cool. I'll get her number from you the next time I see you.

There are soooo many nice little apartments for the right price all over. My ex lives in Alafaya Woods, they are gorgeous AND the right price. Just really worried about what to do with the bike...

Anyone live in an apartment with a motorcycle parked outside? Any ideas on how to keep it safe or at least make people NOT want to steal my bike?

YOu can install a scorpio alarm on your bike... Won't stop anyone from doing shit, but makes lots of annoying noise when they are destroying your ride....

Ground level Apts with bike parked in the apt. or chain, lots of it, but that would entail you untying your girl first to use it...

My Fiance and I have an extra 3 bedroom 2 bath house. It has a 1-1/2 car garage and a 2 car carport with a fully fenced in back yard located in Deltona. We would rent if for 750.00. We would prefer nonsmokers and pets upon approval. Anyone interested, feel free to email me. Thanks, Chris

I definitely want to do the alarm along with covering the bike if it's outside. I know if someone wants it, they WILL get it. I just want to get the lazy thieves away.

Get a ground apartment... dont bother with the stairs and bring it inside... seriously if you cant afford to rent a garage. Thieves will get your bike irregardless outside. I had a 2nd story apartment a few yrs ago and had to chain my bike... they even wouldnt let me keep it under the stairs and even had the audacity to place a large ugly a$$ green sticker on the bike that WOULDNT come off to warn me... lived in homes from then on...

I had an '02 954RR stolen from me while I lived in an apartment. 90% of the time I wheeled it inside on my 1st floor studio into the living room. Left it out one night because I had school early the next morning...gone. I would never again live in an apartment with a motorcycle. They get taken from apartments all of the time, I'd be inclined to say that it's the #1 place where they get picked up. Get something with a garage.

I used too, I just parked it on the back patio and chained it to the beam that held the upstairs apartment's patio up. No one messed with it. Of course, that might be because it was a '93 GSF400... and the red had kinda faded to an embaressing pink. :(

About the only -interesting- thing that happened with it was when this one guy running from the cops tried to hide behind it. Didn't work out so well for him.

No chain or alarm needed. Just make sure you prominently display the Honda symbol, and you should be fine.

Found a few apartment complexes with a garage as an option. That may work. I don't know how much the garage is though...

I used to live at an apartment complex and I parked my bike on the screened in patio that was just outside my window and had no issues until the managment company saw it when working on the a/c unit. they told me i had to move it outside. I moved it to the stair well just outside my door. I got a new bike and kept it under the stairs until the management company complained about it being a fire hazard and I moved it outside...it was stolen about a week later.

I tried to break the lease and move out based on unsafe living conditions and it didn't work. I rented a house and will never ever be without a garage.

Most apartment complexes with garages charge between $100 and $200 a month. Try to convince them that it's a deal breaker and they will probably come down in price.

Well me and Alli spent all day driving around yesterday. All of the houses that looked nice in the pictures, were not so great in person. I'm not living in the ghetto. Too worried about her getting hurt to risk it.

Went and looked at a ton of apartments though. After all of them, she fell in love with alafaya woods apartments. They have a nice layout and are in our budget. I can stash the bike under the front stairs or inside the back porch. Plus the back porch serves as an easy access to the backyard and she keeps talking about getting a puppy... Kill me.

We're going to go back and check a few more places soon. Let me know if you have any suggestions. We both agree that we need to live together with nobody else. Keeps the drama to a minimum.
