We might even call this thread, "M.A.R.S. mission test". (Mike, Art, Road Show). The official version will be M.A.P.S. (Mike, Art, Patrick Road Show). So we took a test run today to Sanford where we checked out some info on the Auto Train. Victor, the loading guy, was real cool and here's what he told us. Just like DbSuperbiker said, bikes dont wait in the huge line with all the cars, we pull right up past the check in booth, to loading lane #3. From there we all go in as a group and will be issued seats and dining based on our group, so we can all sit and eat together. Loading starts at 11:30am and ends at 4pm, but Vic said to be there around noon to get the best seats and to make sure we stay together. From there we checked out the train yard. We are boarding on July 28th, then touring some of Md and DC history for a day, then joining a sportbike rally on the Blue Ridge Pkwy sponsored by the christiansportbike group, then riding home down the length of the blue ridge. So if you want the road trip of a lifetime, shoot me a pm and I'll give ya more details. Should be back on Aug 2nd. Here's a couple pics from today in Sanford.
