SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR II
Court Administration invites qualified individuals to apply for the position of Systems Administrator II. This position is funded by Palm Beach County, Position # 5675.
This is a full-time position is based on a 40-hour work week, at an hourly rate of 24.52 per hour (Pay Grade 36 – $51,001.60 annualized). The position is based in the Main Courthouse in West Palm Beach, FL although travel to other courthouse locations might be required. In addition to the base salary, this position offers a full range of County benefits, including medical, dental and life insurance coverage, along with retirement plans, and generous holiday and leave policies.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This is advanced professional and technical work that involvesproject development, oversight, hardware and software systems implementation and/or support. Anindividual in this class is responsible for support of information technology services, including but not limited to analyzing system needs and implementingsolutions, administering complex client-server and web systems, developing businessapplications, developing/providing training and support to co-workers and/ortroubleshooting/resolving technical difficulties as they arise.This position reports to the Fifteenth Circuit’s Court Technology Officer.

Examples of Work Performed
This position assists the Court Technology Officer in the following responsibilities:
· Strategic Planning, Budget Development, Inventory procurement and maintenance, Operational Management and Oversight as needed.
· Serves as project manager for the research, development and implementation of automation solutions.
· Analyzes user needs, researches available options, and prepares cost/benefit analysis.
· Develops and implements project plans for approved initiatives.
· Implements and administers purchased software applications.
· Evaluates employee performance, recommends hiring, termination and promotion of staff as requested.
· Assists in the design, implementationand maintenance of complex Client/Server and web based systems.
· Designs and develops business applications and system/user documentation as necessary.
· Monitors systems and oversees staff for effective performance, documentation currency, operation, back-ups, security, and data integrity.
· Coordinates with vendors, consultants and external entities when necessary to achieve desired results.
· Performs related work as required.
Competencies
Considerable knowledge in IT project management methodologies.
Considerable knowledge of current system development methods and tools.
Considerable experience in supervising technical staff
Experience in developing needs assessments, risk and ROI documentation
Experience in budget development and inventory management
This position requires a thorough knowledge of the following:
various client/server hardware/software packages, including Microsoft and open source solutions; data processing principles, standards, and procedures; data design methods; networking concepts including connectivity, protocols, security, recovery and diagnostic methods.
Education and Experience Guidelines
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related field and two (2) years of experience in IT project management or system development; minimum 1 year supervising technical staff, or any satisfactory equivalent combination of related training and experience.
Licenses, Certifications and Registrations Required
Preference given for:
Windows Certification
Project Management Certification
Database Planning
