Hey guys and gals,

I have a question regarding a track suit. Go figure. I would like to have my own track suit this time for the upcoming DSB private track day. Our very own TJ was very gracious last year to lend me an extra one he had which worked great. However, I'd rather not be that guy that's always borrowing people's shit just because they have an extra something lying around (This disclaimer only applies to this particular situation, god knows I will borrow something from someone later).

I don’t want to spend too much. (big surprise there!) Looking online, David came across this one at everyone’s favorite store, Cycle Gear. It looks good and it's cheap. Now I know most of you will say this is something you don’t go cheap on, but on the other hand I don’t have a ton of extra cash for something I will use about once or twice a year. Anyone have any first-hand feedback on this Frank Thomas suit, besides the one's I can read about through the site? I was thinking the white and black one.

what size are you? i have an old Fiedsheer suit that has been down twice in but it still is holding up......I'd have to check tonight for the size......I was like 6' around 180 when i used it years ago.....I tried to get it on awhile back but it either shrank or I've gotten a little thicker......let me know...i'll make you a deal just to get it out of the garage.....

Thanks for the input guys!!! Thanks Jeff, glad someone notices.
Yeah, I am a bit round, 5'7, 185 lbs. I did see some of those on the wera forums, not to sure though. Its easy to exchange stuff at the store and besides I have a gift card and I am sure I am have coupon to CG somewhere.

Yeah I need to pick up a suit too. The reviews seem a little mixed on the XTi, but I swear I saw someone using one at the last track day. I need to pick up a suit myself, my last one was too large so I sold it for Christmas Cash last year.

What size are you Vinny? There's a 40 GPX Type-R on ebay right now for cheap.

Frank Thomas does make decent stuff-but if you notice, in the reviews those who crash tested it had offs around 50 mph. If I recall your average speed around jennnings was about 65 mph and you have bouts of 120+

I crashed in my Alpinestar suit at 100 mph and walked away with a sprained ankle, tweaked shoulder and a badly bruised ego.

For a first suit, go for it. You can't beat the price and if you have gift cards and coupons it's even better. Have you tried them on? Hows the fit?

I almost bought a Dainese suit...actually I did, then returned it because the Alpinestar fit me better.

I have a black and white, with silver piping, Joe rocket that I wore for 2 years...before losing 30 lbs.
At the time i was 5'7" and 175.
Pretty good shape.....maybe $175?

I have that suit, bought it off wera forums from a guy who lowsided it at 80+ speeds on 2 different occasions. Spyderchick (if your on wera you know who she is) repaired them both times, and said she was surprised how minor the stuff was that she had to repair.

I have the black and white version of that suit fits me well and I have no issues with it. I have no intension of testing it so I can't give you anything there. It is well worth the money.

Holy crap that looks like my old love seat. Just like it, in fact...

How do you like that Frank Thomas? I'm gonna need to get something and I'm not sure I want to invest in another GPX Type R like I had before.

make sure you try to break it in before the 20th.

Frank Thomas is not the softest leather out of the box...

get some leather conditioner and follow the directions then let it sit out in the sun. It'll soften it up a lot

Its been done by a few of us....

I even went to the extent to pull my track bike into the living room and play moto gp while wearing gear.
