I know that some Sunoco stations by me sell the Sunoco 260GT 100 Octane race fuel. I am back to premium pump gas in my bike but, used the Sunoco fuel for almost 3 years. It burns clean, is slightly oxgenated, does not have to be drained from system like some race fuels, and smells good too!

Here's the Fact Sheet

I wonder if the bikes would run ok on 100LL. You can get that from the Spruce Creek Fly-In

Ok from what I found when I searched, 100LL tends to be harder on rings and valves due to the lack of lubricants in the fuel. Also the lead and clog up O2 sensors and catalytic converters as well. hmmm.....

Joe, i tried 100LL on my 97' GSXR 750-with terrible results.. apparentky the additives contained for "high altitude" operation resulted in my intake valves becoming severely pitted...

so far the only place selling it is the NSB Speedway during event weekends... the "operator" at the speedway had no idea what brand/price.... i believe we are SOL

.I know for sure the Sunoco in Deland at S Woodland Blvd and Beresford where Woodland narrows to two lanes and that small Flea Market is sells 100 and 110 at the pump for $9.49 and $9.99 respectfully, I don't know for sure if the Sunoco on 17/92 in Orange City is reopened and carrying race fuel again for sure but I will go by and check and let you know. We get ours at Speed World Dragway they have 100 and 112 and yes Av Gas as we used to call it is not a good idea.

I used to get it at the Sunoco in Deland or at Orlando Speedworld. It was around $9.50/gal.

Good thing im sticking to 93. Id hate to see paying near $10/gal. $40 to fill your tank - sheesh.

Yeah. One night at the strip I did a series of back to back comparison runs between 93 octane pump gas and the Sunoco 100 and showed no difference in MPH in the 1/4 mile. I went a step further and corrected my runs for weather conditions just to eliminate any variables. That being said, I never really took advantage of it because I don't have a cable for my race ECU that would allow me to bump the timing up to really require the higher octane fuel.

and that @$2.00 more expensive then at DIS

Let's see.... I use 100LL in the RS125. $27 for 7 gallons last time I filled up.

Premix does the lubing. No O2 sensor or Cat.

He doesn't have enough HP to drift that thing.

and if you're not running high enough compression or advance to need the higher octane it it actually reduces the performance of the motor to run it.

AV gas = bad idea too.

action has race gas 112 for $ 53,oo for 5 gal. can be cut down to 101 102 with 93 oct.so now you have 10 gal. of race gas...

here in Edgewater ,Taylor racing has race gas in two blends , i think its 100 and 112 or 115? octane. good prices. mix 50/50 with pump gas , its good to go... Also av. gas is still a glorified kerosene, will wreck havoc on exhaust valve guides and will leave lots of ash deposits in combustion chamber.. i just bought a 375 gallon tank and pump. so i can buy 93 octane alcohol free gas. one of the suppliers i talked to said i could get for $3.70 a gallon delivered 100gal. minimum.. damn spell check got workout this morning

BMW reccomends 98 for my bike (cant find that) I use the DeLand Sunoco 100 mixed with 93 with no ethanol bike runs great. I can run the 93 with no ethanol and it runs good but the 93 (pump gas) with ethanol I can feel it in the lower rpms. 100 is $9.5 per gallon $50.00 fillup thats why I mix.

Ahhhh the truth is spoken. The build of the engine determines the required octane number. Unless you feel the need to spend extra money on creating sweet smelling exhaust with the added bonus of less power.

I believe that the euro octane number 98 RON is equivalent to the US 93-94 soooo..........93 should be fine. You would need to know what rating system BMW is using when they specify 98.
