I have been thinking about this mod for a while and was planning on doing it this week. has anyone here done SS brake line stall themselves? Any advice would be great. Usually I can handle most jobs but this one I am not sure I can do by myself. Was thinking about taking her to the shop.

SS lines are a great investment!! There's quite a few of us that have done the install ourselves...all you have to do is ask man

Actually its not too bad. I did it by myself, and that says alot. I can't usually do projects like that by myself. Helping Mike install his probably made it ALOT easier, but its really not that bad if you are somewhat mechanically inclined.

It's not bad. Tool you need the most is a brake-line bleeder. (Mighty-Vac) Second tool is a Torque Wrench. The stock brake banjo's are excellent quality. The bolts that come with the line kits can be worse than the OEM bolts. If you have at least one Double Banjo bolt in your stock brake line (like a cross-over coupling) use them instead of the cheap bolts in the kits.
The drill is to start at the caliper banjo bolts and work your way back up to the master. (Have a cup handy to catch the old fluid and keep it clear of any painted surfaces.) Install the new lines with new crush washers and the OEM banjo bolts if possible. (If you have any itch to race the bike someday, the time to drill the bolts for safety wire is while you have them out to replace the lines.)
Then, use fresh brake fluid and bleed the bejezus outta them. It takes time, but it's worth it.

You really dont even need the brake line bleeder. Just get some clear tubing to fit over the bleeder screws, and its pretty simple.

Thanks for all the input. Hopefully will see you guys tomorrow night and hopefully I can find someone to help me out on a weekend or evening. Did not even order the lines yet as I was seeing how much was going to be involved with the install. Thanks to all!
