We are planning a trip up to Deal's Gap next spring, & we're trailering the bike (a 2002 CBR Superblackbird). We have never made the trip up from FL, just wondering if anyone has made the trip trailering, & how long it took you.[/b]
Chiung and I trailered the bikes up a couple of years ago. We went straight to Knoxville, TN though. From Edgewater to Deals Gap is about 700 miles so I would plan on a good 12 hours depending on how and what you are driving. I towed two bikes with my Avalanche and didn't even know they were there so they did not slow me down at all.
We went in early April and other than the Dragon most roads in the area were deserted. Definitely hit the Cherahola Skyway (spelling?) and the Blue Ridge Parkway while you are there. A little more traffic on the Blue Ridge Parkway but worth the ride. You will have a great time but I wouldn't get my hopes up for the Dragon because it is usually a zoo on weekends and can be busy during the week depending on what is going on.

THANKS FOR THE INFO, THE BIRD IS THE ONLY BIKE ON THE TRAILER & WE'RE DRIVING THE WIFE'S FORD ESCAPE. WE USED TO TOW A 2800# PONTOON BOAT W\IT, SO I THINK IT'LL BE OK FOR THE TRIP.
I'M READY TO RIDE ANYTIME, BUT IT'S TOUGH WITH A 4 YEAR OLD & THE WIFE WORKS NIGHTS. DROP A LINE & LET ME KNOW. THANX, MIKE

I've been there...... I think it's 5 times now.
Usually make it there in 10 hours with good traffic, but it depends on where you are going to set up camp.
Do you know where you are staying ?
