View Full Version : Bought a Decade Challenged Sportbike......
I know what ya'll are thinking. "You already ride one!" Yeah,yeah,yeah....but this one is part of Sport Bike history. I found (more like it found me) a 1991 Yamaha FZR 1000. Bought it from it's original owner. Got a good deal, been sitting, but I'll have her up and going in no time. Even after sitting for 5 years in the previous owners garage it is not as dirty as another Yamaha we all know....( )
funny....real funny.....just for that I'm gonna cancel the detail job I had planned before the 3rd.

where does a prospect apply for membership in the decade challenged sport riders club?

I don't think we have an official application. Are you at least 30 years old, have a job that you can't afford to lose, a mortgage, and kids (o.k. the kid part is optional) and can remember lusting after the FIRST generation 900 Ninja and 750 Interceptor? If so,show up for the ride on the 3rd,and your in.

how about lusting after a new 1964 honda 305 superhawk (with dual leading shoe drum brakes on each end)! i guess that qualifies me on age.

Sweet bike, John. Still bad ass, too!
 Yep,That qualifies you on age. Though I am a little young to have lusted after the 60's Hondas, I did lust after my dads 1972 Benelli 650,and ya know what! I have it in my garage. We were lucky that my dad held on to it all these years. It was stored in his garage from the early 80's and my brother brought it down here to Fla. in the early 90's. I have it now and I put like 200 miles a year on it.

wow, what a great story....is the bike green/white?
No. It is Gold and White. It's not perfect mind you but it is a 12000 mile un restored bike. Z
