alright, theres a nail in my rear tire. the tire still has air in it, but i did hear it blow when the nail went thru. how do i get the bike to a shop so they can put a new tire on? i would have no idea how to take the rear wheel off, so thats kinda not a possibility. also, does anyone know if that new shop off us1 near 95 will mount a tire and all that good stuff? thanks.

Call Chad at Two Wheel Tech. or give me a call saturday at Daytona Cycle. 258 1784 or 255 0566. We can come and pick it up and get a tire on for ya. I am not sure what tire you have,so if we don't have it, you may have to get it elsewhere and then we can get ya mounted up. Aren't you up here in the Palm Coast area? I will pm ya my phone #. Give me a call tonite (fri) and maybe we can figure something out. Z

IF THE TIRE IS STILL GOOD GO TO A TIRE SHOP AND HAVE THEM PUT A PATCH PLUG IN IT AND DONT LISIN TO ANY ONE SAYS ABOUT IT IT WONT BLOW OUT TRUST ME I KNOW....OR IF YOU STILL WANT A NEW TIRE AND THE ONE YOU HAVE IS IN GOOD SHAPE I'LL PULL IT OFF FOR YOU FOR THE TIRE....

Go to Wal-Mart buy a tire plug kit it comes with the tools to pull the nail and then plug it. Best way to go, my tire has two plugs in it from nails on I4, and my old tire had 1 plug in it. No need to get a new tire, plugs don't make it run any different.

Oh my GOD,

Don't even listen to that plug it stuff. Your post indicated you are set to replace it but just in case....

You dont really want to risk your $?????,?? bike & your irreplaceable ass over a lousy tire do you? As your speed increases you tire will grow due to the cintrifugal force & put undue pressure in the area of the plug. The tire is engineered to be as light weight as safely possible considering all the belts & layers are structurally sound - now that you have a nail you have reduced the integrity of the design.

Do people plug them anyway? Sure. Dont go jumping off a bridge with them just because they are telling you somthing your wallet wants to hear. A high speed (and that is when it will fail) tire failure is likely catastrophic. Don't go there. Will it blow apart like a Daytona tire terst. Not likely. Could it loose air very fast in a high speed run & not perform when you slow down & lay it over in a corner. Absolutely.

Unless of course you do not plan to exceede 55 mph I respectfully disagree with those who state that you plug it.. Sell it to 92shine ASAP. :D

I agree i lost a tire at high speeds and lets say they carried off my bike in buckets..You really shouldnt play with tires you only got 2 and it wont keep going on one for long.It took me 10 years to buy another bike after that,,Just my 2 cents

Use a plug to get you home, then go tire shopping.

The plug could last for the life of the tire or it could fail any time without notice. Since you don't know what other damage has been done to your tire from the puncture you never know what will happen. Why risk your bike and yourself for the price of a tire ?

I choose the risks I take, and bad tires isn't one of them.

To answer one of the the original questions. Yes, the shop on US1 has tires and mounts them there but you have to bring in the wheel off the bike. It's not that hard to learn to do, and there are plenty of people here that could help.
