Bike Problem I Smell Gas

Today I got a loud smell of gas from the bike not sure whats going on :? if you guys care to chime in with any Q & A or anything I should look at or do, PLEASE do.

What kind of bike ? Fuel injected ? Do you see gas ? Was it running or off when you smelled it ?

89 Katana smelled it while bike was running it was faint once I got home and turn the bike off the gas smell was stronger I think its running rich I'll check the spark plugs along with the petcock and hose's today it was not that bad but I can still smell it. :?

:idea: You may have just gotten a small piece of debris caught in one of the carb inlet needles. That would give you a carb with an over full fuel bowl,that may have been dripping. If the smell persists when the bike is off,you may have a bad line. Your Kat should have a vaccum operated petcock. (meaning that the fuel valve is controlled by engine vaccum,so it only flows while the engine is running. Also make sure that the petcock is not on the prime setting. Fuel is free to flow on that setting even if the engine is off. Let me know if you have problems finding the problem. Z
