First off.. no I dont have the owners manual :o)
Anyone recommend when a valve adjustment or tuneup for that matter would 'really' need to be done?
My CBR900rr is pushing 21K miles (damn that long commute) ... and was just wondering...
THanx all

Geez,
you'd think with all the hondas around here that someone would know the answer.

most of the new sportbikes recomend valve jobs 14k to 16k miles. anyways it couldnt hurt.

Valve jobs ? I hope not.
The valve clearances on my bike are recommended to be checked every 12K miles.
With 21K I'd think about having them checked.

He recommends anything between.. DAVE DONT LAUGH!!!
Interval for adjustment
20,000-30,000 miles!
I kid you not!
Depending on how you ride, (Im a slow poke) ... he said most hondas (900 cc versions) ... dont really need a adjustment till like 25,000 ... needless to say... mine is going in soon :o)

In all the Hondas we've had, we've NEVER needed an adjustment. We check them every 12,000 miles and so far, they've always been in perfect adjustment. Ah, you gotta love a Honda. :P :D
(Sorry Carl, didn't notice your post until just now or I would have replied sooner)

My 900RR is a bit noisy on accel and decel, kinda sounds a little chattery.
It has 12,000 miles on it. I have regular oil changes and it runs great. I just get worried about the noise. What should I do?
Tim
I will try and catch up with you sometime this weekend and give it a listen. Z
