AHRMA will be holding a vintage 1/2 mile dirt track event on Wed. Mar 5, at Spring Garden Ranch in DeLeon Springs. Practice is at noon, race should start at 1 pm. The track at Spring Garden Ranch is normally used for thoroughbred training, so this event will be 'the way dirttrack was meant to be'. No guarantee, but AHRMA is promoting involvement of a number of 'Great Men of Motorcycling' for some of it's events this year: Dick Mann, Jay Springsteen, Les Archer, and Gary Nixon to name a few. I would suspect that at least some of them will be attending.
There are some excellent scenic, twisty back roads that lead to the Ranch. Meet at Mickey D's on 92/I-95 at 10:30. Anyone coming from the west side, we can pick up at the Citgo on 92/Kepler Rd in DeLand at approximately 10:45. Spring Garden Ranch also has a concession/restaurant, and the 'horseburgers' are excellent.
