Overall leader Lance Armstrong of Austin, Texas, rides past the Arc de Triomphe on his way to win the 2001 Tour de France cycling race, on the Champs Elysees avenue in Paris in this July 29, 2001 file photo. Cancer nearly killed Armstrong, then it made him stronger. Illness and chemotherapy transformed his body - then it taught the cocky, undisciplined young rider how to race beyond pain. Armstrong is a true athlete, and someone we and our children should look up to. His recovery and then domination of his sport is a truly heroic effort. That is more than can be said for these over payed, cry baby, criminal ball players in this country. Here is to Lance and many more wins!
