They announced at the strip when the ambulance drove off that the rider injured in pre-competition freestyles had a broken collarbone; later, one of his friends returned to the strip from the hospital and said the rider broke his back. I really found the stunts awesome, however, it is difficult to say it was a blast with that sort of injury report.

I thought it was a pretty good show overall, but could have used a little better organization. There was a lot of dead time between things.

I talked to one of the guys that rides with the guy that went down and he told me it was only a broken collar bone. I guess there could be more to the story.

Those kinds of things can and do happen when you take those kinds of risks. There are a lot of talented stunt riders around.

Sorry we never met at the show, I saw a red and grey Harley parked against the fence behind the stands on the south side of the strip where we were, not sure if that was you, but it would have been difficult to tell who went with what bike anyway. It was a very different way to spend the day.

I rode in on a black vulcan last minute. I spotted yours and red12R plates, but like yourself, it was hard to tie a rider to a parked bike. I thoroughly enjoyed the event and sorry I had to leave around 2:30 to beat the darkness home. I can't wait until stuntfest 2003; I will definitely bring a pack of friends now that I know what to expect.

The other 12 was a guy that lives here in Daytona and rode over with us. Guess I should have done the cell # thing, sorry, I wasn't thinking.

I'm playing with my video and I may get a chance to post a few clips soon. Glad you made it over, we'll have to do a little better on the meeting part next time.

Dave
