On Friday, March 7th, Ducati Online and Ducati North America will be holding a daylong gala at Speedpark Motorsports, a new location for this long time yearly event. Those attending will be able to soak up the sun at Speedpark, admire the Ducatis on display, ride on the go-karts or test their skills aboard the Speedpark's 22 foot dragsters (each with a roaring 300 horsepower 350 cubic inch V-8 engine). The event will also include catering, contests, prizes, a charity auction, tech talks, Ducati race team appearances and an all day bike show beginning at noon.
2003 marks the 5th year of the premier Ducati bike show in the Eastern U.S. On view there will be some of the most pristine original-condition and custom-built Ducatis ever amassed in one location. The panel of judges includes perhaps the most knowledgeable person on Ducatis in the world, Ducati SPA museum curator and historian, Livio Lodi.
The categories for the bike show are Best Bevel Drive, Best Monster, Best 750/900SS, Best Tourer, Best Hyperbike, Best Limited Production Series and Best of the Show.
The entry fee to participate in the bike show is $10. Entry to the party is free.
The 2003 event will showcase the Ducati 888, one of the most beautiful and exotic Ducati models ever produced. Past winners will display their bikes, and an expert panel will judge the entries. Also new this year is the Ducati Idol "Let Your Ducati Sing" contest where the Ducati with the best exhaust note will be chosen. Special Ducati only secured parking is available all day at the park.
General questions about the daylong event and the featured activities as well as the bike show should be directed to Ms. Vicki Smith by calling on 954-764-3847 or emailing to veloce916@aol.com. See you there!
Directions:
Speedpark is located across from the Daytona Speedways highest grandstand, the Winston Tower, just behind the Hooters on Intl. Speedway Blvd For further information on Speedpark and this event visit www.speedparkdaytona.com
