Well, it was one of those great days/ride you never want to end. We met up with Brent and Steve from around the Daytona area.. as we are from Ocala, so we met kinda in between near the Ocala National Forest. We took some great roads up and thru the forest into the northern region, then took a ferry across the St Johns River and started southbound...stopped at a great little restaurant right on the river called Porkys and had a super lunch, then continued down to state route 40 and there we split where they went east and we headed west towords home. Arrived home about dark... Just a super ride !! with about 200 miles total....no incidents, cops etc. Just a GREAT ride to wrap up the weekend. Brent planned the ride, so the responsibility for the couple of "dirt" roads...mainly leading to the ferry is all his fault!!!!. Though he has graciously offered to buy lunch for all of us on the next ride. Oh, and by the way, Steve, Kim and I have determined that our next ride lunch will be at Red Lobster !! THANKS BRENT !!!!!!

Hi Dave...
The Ferry was at the end of a 7 or 8 mile long dirt road...i think it was FR43 near salt springs. It was very cool, and quite a neat added touch to the ride. The dirt road was just fine and was no problem at all...though dont tell Brent that because we need to keep it a secret so we can rag him about it and make him feel bad, so he'll buy lunch next time

That sounded like alot of fun....nothing like taking a ride and then hop a ferry to continue the quest...I've passed by there and never noticed it....

Dave,
Keep waiting for that free lunch! Right now I am stuck in San Jose CA. I hear that the weather is not to great there at home anyway. I am looking into replacing the bandit with a ZX-6R. You had better get those Katana's out of the break in period so you and Kim can give me a run for the money! Kim just likes to sandbag us anyway, talking about the DR and riding in the dirt.
Steve and Daytona Dave will still kill all of us though no replacement for displacement. I think Kim would kill Dave and the rest of us on the dirt road to the ferry though!
Hope you guys are ok and enjoying the great weather in Florida!
Brent

Hi Brent,
Your not missing much here as far as the weather goes thats for sure. We stayed home this weekend and started the daunting task of compounding and waxing the boat, and starting the process of getting eveything shipshape for the coming fishing season in a couple of months. I got about half the outside of the boat done with the power buffer and my arms are killing me, and still have a long way to go. These are the times i wish i had a smaller boat !!. Kimberly bought another DR, so she is all excited about that, and she says the ride to the ferry on the Katana's was a piece of cake . This cold weather has got to go !!. I think this coming weekend the 21 and 22 i will start thinking about xmas shopping as usual..though Kimberly is done of course. We plan on having some time off over the next couple of weeks, though i wish we could shut down completely but cant...just too far behind. Hopefully we can all get together and do a little riding sometime over the holiday. Have fun in CA

If you can believe this, TJ and I did all our shopping in about 3 hours the other evening. Got every single gift taken care of except for one. I finally got organized this year and made a list of exactly what I wanted to get everyone instead of just wandering aimlessly and that worked out GREAT. Only had to put up with one evening of crowds and traffic and I'm glad for that. It never went this easily. I'm wondering if we did something wrong! If you all do end up riding, have a good, safe ride and be careful with all the holiday traffic.

Stacia,
I have never been able to get all the Christmas shopping done that fast. I will have to take your advice and decide what to get before I go shopping. I still need to get the wife something. I will probably do that on Monday. I will be on vacation for the rest of the year starting Monday so if you or anyone else wants to ride let me know.
Dave and Kim,
Good luck shopping. Steve and I will probably scout out some roads here locally.
Steve,
Want to meet Sunday at 9:30 at Friendlies? Maybe go over to 42 and try some of the roads around there? Got my Christmas present yesterday a 00 ZX-6R in red as you suggested.
To the rest of the people here if you want to ride Sunday post up and we will meet around 9:00 am at Hooters maybe
then head over to Deland area.
Regards,
Brent

Dave,
Thanks,
I got out on it today after having it serviced at Bankstons. Walker's Suzuki where I bought the ZX said it was serviced. Dirty oil and rusted chain told me it was not. I did get a 30 day warrantee from Walker's though.
I did about 100 miles today and could not really put the ZX through its powerband as its limited right now to 6000 rpm for break in.
Needless to say it corners better, has more power, better stability at highway speed and better in cross winds than the Bandit.
In the comfort area to ZX is not nearly as comfortable as the Bandit.
See you guys after Christmas.
Regards,
Brent
