I have one and as far as I know most of the 2002's are running it. The Muzzys is based of of this setup.
Is that you that sent the email request ?

Hey,
Dave I sent you that e-mail last night asking for any maps that may clear up the under 3k rpm sluggishness. I have been browsing several message boards and I am finding that the dead spot under 3k rpm is common with the addition of the Pipe and PCRIIIr. I am going to adjust the TPS from the stock 1.084vdc to 1.16vdc. I am then gonna change the gearing by dropping a tooth in the front (18 to 17). This should help mask the "dead Zone". With stock gearing it is really apparent. I spoke to a guy at Muzzy that has played with this issue quite a bit and he said that the problem is in the imbedded ignition programming from the factory. Sounds just like my old mustang computer. I suspect in time someone will come up with a truely programmable computer for the ignition. I think that Muzzy has something like that but its cost prohibitive. Let me know if you hear of any maps that I could try that claim to help with the low end.

What year 12 do you have ?
I'm catching up on email now since I've been traveling all day and didn't see one from you.

Dave,
It's a 2002 ZX12R. Muzzy sent me another map today. I am gonna change it in the morning and see how it does. I am putting the 17 tooth sprocket on tomorrow as well. If your interested I'll let you know how it works out.

I'm always interested in knowing how a map works for someone so let me know.
I have the two maps that Muzzy is sending out and they have mine (theirs is based on mine). Each bike is different so I'm curious how their map will work for you.

Dave,
Send your map. I would love to try it!! I geared the bike today and drivability at slow speeds has been greatly improved. The problem that I had was having to wade through traffic in first gear and the "dead spot" was not tollerable. The bike has really good torque at 4k rpm and above in any gear. First gear full throttle applications are really exciting!! In second gear the bike climbs the chain. Just the way I like it!!! Tight twisties are a joy. Gear selection is much better. I love those hills that you can just punch it and ride with the front end up in the air till you need to brake for the next corner. This bike loves to rev just like the first generation 1984 Ninja. I had one back then and I kicked a lot of ass with it on mountain roads and on Pacific Coast Highway rides in Northern California. The 84 900 Ninja ( Piped and tuned )would pull to 11,700 ( redline was 10,500 then) in sixth gear which was about 168 mph in long straight aways. At that time there wasn't anything that could keep up with that machine on top end. I suspect that you ride in Florida and you probably can relate to the nice views with the Ocean to your side as your vision starts to blurr at high speeds.
I know the speedo is off on the ZX12R with the front sprocket changed from an 18 toooth to a 17 tooth on the front sprocket, but not sure how much. I have heard about a " Yellow Box" and my understanding is that this box can calibrate the speedo.
Do you know where I can get one of these?
My next step is to play with the TPS voltage to see if I can improve throttle response.
Nothing runs like a fine tuned machine......

Send me an email and I'll send you the map.

I got my Yellow Box directly from Roman, the guy who makes them.
